The primary goals of the Product Genius are to ensure that a unique experience is provided to all customers and to assist them through the purchasing process. The Product Genius will achieve this by handling all walk-in guests, answering questions, educating the public about the brand & products, conducting test drives and other product familiarisation activities. Additionally, the Product Genius will assist customers with the reservation, ordering and delivery processes of their vehicle. An implicit responsibility of the Product Genius is to conduct education-based sales conversations and business dealings in a way that creates a superior customer experience that represents the brand values.

Other duties include:

  • Responsible for downloading all product bulletins from the manufacturer’s website and understanding changes to the range. You will also become the lead on these things and help the sales executives to understand the changes.
  • Being the main point of contact when it comes to offering and upselling accessories.
  • Attend all Manufacturer product courses and become accredited before becoming a fully qualified Sales Executive.
  • Engaging with customers who are looking at future models and keeping them informed in the buying cycle.
  • Ensuring all vehicles are fully configured for online services and assisting customers when creating their accounts.
  • Responsible for showroom vehicles, ensuring they are configured correctly, they have accessories, they have price boards, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring we have a new car display on site and on Auto Trader.
  • Helping with showroom launches and product placements (networking)


You should demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively
  • Experience working in a face to face customer environment
  • IT literate


Working for the Jaguar Land Rover retail network, you will receive full product training that will allow you to grow your knowledge of vehicle specifications, finance packages, insurance, accessories, vehicle choice and negotiation to confidently build and close a deal.
