How Hatfields are operating under the new COVID-19 restrictions

With new COVID-19 restrictions in force as of Tuesday 5 January 2021, I want to update you about how our operations are affected. I am pleased to reassure you that, unlike during the first national lockdown, we are still open for business. We are maintaining full staffing levels and have robust COVID-19 precautions and processes in place to protect our customers and our team.


Our service and parts departments remain fully operational, by appointment, as we have been during recent months. You can book in for service with confidence about safety and sanitisation. We have also supplemented our loan car fleets to make it easier for you to stay mobile while your vehicle is with us.

With winter weather here, it’s important to keep your vehicle in tip-top condition of course, and we’re here to help you ensure that it is – even if you’re not getting out and using it as much as you might normally be doing.

Car Sales – Select, Click, Drive

For new and used car sales we have extended and enhanced our online services. We recommend our online Click, Select and Drive service which enables you to choose your vehicle on our website and arrange to buy or reserve it, arrange finance and a part exchange valuation from your home, then collect your car from us. With all cars, new or used, you can also view online with ‘live video’ during our normal opening hours, 7 days a week. These can found on our website.

Our sales department is fully staffed and are available in the background to help you remotely either on the phone, with online chat or via video link and can guide you through the online process to purchase.

PPE and cleanliness

All our staff are fully equipped with appropriate PPE and are tested using infrared thermometers. We’ve established additional cleaning procedures throughout too, including disinfecting all touch points on our vehicles.

Personal hygiene

We provide hand sanitiser for you when you visit – and although you won’t be welcomed with the customary Hatfields handshake, you will be welcomed with a smile and great personal service, at a safe distance.

Prior to your arrival at Hatfields

You will receive a pre-call by our duty service advisor to confirm your allocated arrival / collection time. It is important that you keep to these times so we can adhere to government guidelines regarding social distancing.

Preparing your vehicle

Please can we ask that you remove all personal belongings from your vehicle prior to arrival. If your car is in for service, please ensure that your locking wheel nut removal key is left in the car for us to use.

On arrival at Hatfields

Please can we ask that you turn off your air conditioning prior to exiting your car. We only need your ignition key and or smart key, these will be placed in a secure key bag during your visit. We cannot accept keys on bunches.

Collecting your vehicle when service is completed

As our service department may be working to reduced hours, please confirm a collection time with your duty service advisor. For your safety your car will be sanitised before you collect it.


We accept personal debit card, personal credit card and bank transfer as methods of payment. Please note that unfortunately we do not accept cash.
