Permanent, Full Time, Monday to Friday, 40 hrs per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm

Our apprenticeship is geared toward training the next generation of fully-fledged service and repair Technicians to include diagnostic and EV trained Technicians. This apprenticeship combines off-the-job training with on-the-job learning, and you will be supported at every step of the way.

With a combination of classroom-based training, e-learning, practical training and application of learning, you will be guided by your trainers and personal mentor along to the road to success. As well as employment in our Retailer, you will be given the training and support you need to develop both personally and professionally.

The Role:

Technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features. The duties of a Service Technician may include the following:

  • Servicing vehicles by carrying out checks and undertaking maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components.
  • Receiving work instructions and ensuring that these are fully carried out, working to company service schedules and quality standards in respect of all work undertaken.
  • Investigating reported problems, using special tools and diagnostic equipment, and obtaining advice from senior staff as necessary.
  • Developing and understanding of all necessary documentation in respect of warranty work.

The Ideal Candidate:

To join the programme, applicants must possess the following:

  • Four GCSE grades A – C (new grades 9 – 4) or equivalent in English, Maths and two other subjects (or ability to demonstrate these predicted grades)
  • A passion for everything automotive
  • Punctual and an excellent timekeeper
  • Highly motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
